Choosing a powerful Custom Image is almost like picking a good pair of shoes. You want it to fit just right. Your image must fit your branding, your message and your products. Otherwise, how will you stand out from competitors?
Above, is our Smart Link. This is the link containing important URLs for us here at PUSH. You can access our blog, our website, FAQs, and our socials all from one place. The link is important because it contains all our most valued information under one customised link. It perfectly represents our branding, and fits in line with our company image.
We chose our Custom Image to be the same as our profile image across social platforms. Why? Well, it means anyone clicking on our link from a social platform will recognise the photo straight away. They’ll know they haven’t been bounced elsewhere. It will be reassuring that they’re in the right place with the information they need.
This is an image we often use to represent PUSH. So, for us, it made a lot of sense to use it here. It also works well against our background. But, if we hadn’t upgraded our account to allow a Background Image, then it would still look good stretched and blurred to create the background. Just like what happens on all free accounts.
How to choose a Custom Image
This will largely depend on who or what your Smart Link is for. If it’s for a brand or business, consider using your logo. Either a logo, or a company image that is often used for things such as your social media profile pictures. This will be memorable and will help your branding run smoothly across the board. Keeping your brand identity strong.
Alternatively, you might want to update your Smart Link regularly with any new products you offer. If you’re a company who offers physical products, why not photograph some, or take some of your marketing images and regularly update your Custom Image? It will show potential customers exactly what you have to offer.
A shoe store might share their latest release as their Custom Image. When they release something new, they could update their Smart Link to reflect this. It will keep your URL fresh and inviting, with your consumers knowing they’ll always be able to see the latest option at first click. The point of a Custom Image is to stand out.
You don’t want to fade into the background, so choose something that will engage your consumers. If the Bio Link is for yourself as a creator, why not add a photograph of yourself, with some branding? This again could be updated often. There’s no limit on how many times you update your Custom Image.
When choosing your photo, make sure it screams you. Either your brand, or you as an individual. Would someone clicking on your landing page know that this link belongs to you? How are you showing that? If you include a product photo, think of the colour schemes around it. Do they fit in with your brand? Consider these things and you can’t go wrong!
