Spotify Sound Town – everything you need to know

Spotify have matched their listeners to specific towns across the world based upon their listening habits. This is part of their 2023 Wrapped experience. You can see how your music taste lines up with others worldwide.

As part of Spotify’s Wrapped feature for 2023, the music platform added Sound Town. This is where they’d take your listening habits and compare them to the rest of the world’s. You’d then be given a town which best represents you.

Your location would be chosen based upon both yours and the areas’ listening choices. If a particular area often streams the same tracks as you, then this would likely be the area chose for you. If you haven’t already viewed your Wrapped, there’s still time.

Over 1,300 places across the world were chosen to represent music streaming habits. From Utah to Cuiabá. There are plenty of town choices. Seeing where you fit best might help you decide on your next holiday destination. Who knows?

How does Spotify Sound Town work?

Sound Towns are selected based upon the following; a Spotify user’s most streamed artists of 2023 and how those artists were streamed in other cities. If you’re listening to an artist that is huge in one area, this will likely be the chosen city.

There are a wide variety of cities chosen for Wrapped‘s Sound Town feature. However, some towns have been spoken about more than others through the talk of the town trend. This is where users discuss the cities that have been selected for them.
