Google are in their AI era for sure. Their most recent addition involves making parenthood a little easier. Well, capturing it at least. The giant tech company is introducing a feature called Made You Look (bring on the Meghan Trainor lawsuit…)
The aim of the new feature is to encourage young children to smile for the camera. All parents will know just how difficult it can be to get their child to look in the right direction when snapping that perfect shot, but getting them to smile too is practically impossible.
That’s where Google’s idea is brilliant. They’re introducing an AI feature which will take the job away from a stressed parent. No longer will you need to pull silly faces or wave your hands frantically. Instead, an image will appear on your screen.
Of course, many parents take advantage now of the Best Take feature. Many smartphone devices have similar, whether it’s a case of snapping lots of photos quickly, or putting your camera on live mode and being able to choose one frame from a moving image.

But, if you want to make it even more fun, why not add a fun character to your phone? The catch is, you’ll need the Pixel 9 Pro Fold because the animation will appear on one side of the phone, while you capture using the other half.
Choose a funny yellow chicken bouncing around your screen, or some crazy little monsters waving their tongues. Alternatively, Google are working with Disney to include Joy from Pixar’s Inside Out films. Having a character they know could do the trick.
It’s a great use of AI. The purpose of developing AI is to make lives easier, and processes quicker. This is an example of Google thinking about their audience rather than adding something only a tech-savvy individual can benefit from. What are your thoughts?
