Anime is arguably one of the most popular genres of cartoon, and music out there. That’s right, if you weren’t aware, anime is a music genre too. With the rise of popularity of anime, came the increase need for the music style too.
On Spotify alone, the streams of anime globally have risen by 395% since 2021. In just 3 years, anime music has found its audience and has grown by a huge margin. This shows there’s a need for more. The market is continuing to grow, so this comes at the right time.
There are currently more than 6.7 million user-generated playlists within the anime genre. With a new hub on the way, listeners will be able to access more anime music than ever before. It will provide a space where music streamers can find their niche.
Spotify has joined up with the brand Crunchyroll to make this happen. The aim is to bring fans a new listening adventure and provide a music service that is designed with anime fans in mind. Within the hub, listeners will find playlists curated by Crunchyroll.
