As the official launch of iOS 18 nears, Apple is inviting developers to submit their new apps or updates. This is in preparation for the upcoming releases of its operating systems. Including iOS 18, watchOS 11, and macOS Sequoia. All set to debut next week.

Following Apple’s recent special event, the company released the Release Candidate (RC) builds of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, tvOS 18, visionOS 2, and macOS Sequoia to developers and beta testers. These RC versions are the final test builds.

They are expected to go live for the public next week. Unless significant issues arise. On the Apple Developer portal, Apple is encouraging developers to submit their apps or updates to the App Store. Emphasising the importance of utilising the latest features available.

iOS 18 introduces a range of new APIs, including those for Apple Intelligence tools, Control Center and Lock Screen shortcuts, and dark icons on the Home Screen. For watchOS 11, developers can leverage the new Double Tap API and integrate Live Activities into their apps.

Apple has announced that iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, tvOS 18, visionOS 2, and macOS Sequoia will officially be released to the public on Monday, September 16, for compatible devices. It’s important developers get in there quickly.

Developers looking to submit iOS 18-ready apps must download Xcode 16 RC from the Apple Developer website. Keep in mind that Apple generally holds app updates until the official release date of the new iOS version.
