Move aside ChatGPT, RadioGPT and any other GPT’s out there… Elon Musk wants to create a TruthGPT. A platform for seeking the truth?
The world has gone AI mad recently. There seems to be a new AI for every topic or area you can imagine popping up across the globe. Idea creations, music, radio stations – you name it! Do we need any more right now? Possibly not, but Elon Musk seems to think we do. His new idea is TruthGPT. A way of getting nothing but the truth it seems.
It’s ironic Elon Musk is looking to create a truth speaking platform, because he is all about free speech. Free speech doesn’t equal the truth. In fact, it’s all a matter of opinion rather than having evidence and facts to back it up. It would be quite interesting to see what take he has on the idea. He’s said it will be a ChatGPT alternative that is a “maximum truth-seeking AI.”
The billionaire has recently said that this version of AI is needed to “avoid the destruction of humanity”. It seems a bit odd he’s suggesting we use computers and Artificial Intelligence to bring back humanity? How will TruthGPT be any different from ChatGPT? Both can source information found online, or programmed into them.
Man kind vs chimpanzees?
Keeping things truthful involves factual information rather than opinion based pieces. This is exactly what computers run on. Elon Musk has suggested AI shows a real lack of desire to destroy humanity, in the same way humans live with chimpanzees and protect them. It’s quite a far fetched stretch between the two. Why would AI be created if it’s purpose was to destroy?
We’re not quite at the robot takeover just yet. We still have a while ahead of us of humans running the show. Yes, AI could wrongly put people out of jobs, but technology has been doing this for years. It all depends on how far creators intend to go with this. Musk went on to talk more about the chimpanzee vs man kind idea.
“We recognize humanity could decide to hunt down all the chimpanzees and kill them,” said Musk. “We’re actually glad that they exist, and we aspire to protect their habitats.” So, is he suggesting AI is now in charge, and it’s just being kind enough to keep humans around and protect us? Is AI an evolution of man kind, in the way you could argue humans are of chimps?
How can this be so when man kind created AI? Elon Musk wants even more transparency, which is why he has decided on TruthGPT. He’s mentioned multiple times before the possibility of this type of platform. However, at this current stage, it isn’t clear if TruthGPT is all an idea and will never really exist. Musk hasn’t stated if or when the platform will appear.
