Finding a good audiobook can be a challenge. If you’ve listened to your favourite stories, by your favourite authors, what do you choose next?
Spotify Premium users can access 12 hours of listening each month. This allows users to hear multiple stories throughout the month and if they use up their hours, they can even add on further hours for a cost of €9.99 for 10 hours.
If a book is marked as “Included in Premium” it can be streamed at no extra cost to the subscriber. Of course, some books will have to be paid for individually, but Spotify offer thousands of books within their Premium plan.

Users will find recommendations appear on their Home feed. The more you listen, the more that will be suggested for you. Spotify will start to understand your listening style. They’ll be able to pick out audiobooks which you might enjoy.
By heading to the official audiobook hub, Spotify listeners can find a curated selection of novels. There are playlists to search through, and each genre has its own section. Spotify are determined to continue adding new authors and titles.
With the streaming platform forever evolving, and more users signing up to Premium thanks to their audiobook addition, Spotify has the chance to add further features. They intend to deepen a connection between the author and their listeners.
What this looks like? We aren’t sure yet. Currently, the platform is working on expanding their audiobooks reach. They’re adding the feature to more and more regions, which in turn will earn them further funding to expand this feature.
