Threads has added an Instagram button within their post composing feature. This button will display all the latest Reels and posts shared to your Instagram account. You can select one and share it straight to your Threads account.
Since Threads first came about, Meta has found different ways to connect their platforms together. Previously, they introduced an option allowing Threads users to comment on Instagram posts in a cross-platform collaboration.
Now, Meta are working on an option to allow Reels to be directly posted to Threads from Instagram. This would be a great help for content creators. Especially, if the platform that currently allows Reels to share directly to Facebook, allowed both.
If a content creator could make a Reel within Instagram and have it share to all three Meta platforms, this would save a lot of time. They wouldn’t need to format a video separately, or add various captions and hashtags. One post would go out to each platform.
We’ve discussed previously whether it’s a good idea or not to post the same content across multiple channels. After all, your viewers don’t want to see the same content over and over again. But, it’s likely you have different followers on different platforms.
Any size creator will find they have followers on one platform that don’t follow them on another. Of course, you’ll always get followers who choose to support you on every platform, but the majority of the time, you are speaking to different audiences.
That’s why, being able to share one video across the board is so helpful. All your audiences will see it, and it cuts out a lot of work for an already busy creative. It’s been discovered that within the Threads app, you can tap an Instagram button.
This will then display a grid containing your Instagram posts and Reels. If you select one, you can share it straight to Threads. It’s thought a lot of creators share their content on Threads as a way of expanding their Instagram audience.
